The 40 acre sanctuary is primarily composed of rich conifer swamp dominated by white cedar, balsam fir, and paper birch with the northern boundary composed of limestone cobble shore along Lake Huron's Morris Bay.
The sanctuary protects approximately 1,000 feet of Lake Huron shoreline and a population of dwarf lake iris and ram's head ladyslipper.
