Located off Babcock Road, Birch Creek is a haven for wildlife among the flat farmland of Sanilac County. In a creek valley below an apple orchard, it provides a safe haven for beavers, fox, mink and several types of wildflowers.
The land was donated by Dr. and Mrs. Fred Ludwig of Port Huron. Dr. Ludwig has observed beaver activity for over 30 years and tracks their movements up and down the stream with their food sources (alders and willows).
