Kathryn Briggs donated this sanctuary in February of 1980 in memory of her husband, Robert H. Briggs, and brother-in-law, Herald W. Cox. Kathryn was a leader in the Farmington Naturalist Club and was first introduced to MNA through a meeting co-hosted by the organizations.
Located north of Midland off Esteys Road. Briggs Memorial is an excellent example of second growth forest that resulted from heavy timber cutting, the sanctuary is home to a number of birds including mourning warbler, scarlet tanager, and rose-breasted grosbeak.
