Volunteers get together after a successful day of work.

The sanctuary is located off Barnes Lake Rd, just west of Lonsberry Rd. Just 15 miles from the Flint city limit, Zucker is home to more than a dozen varieties of ferns, large oak and maple trees and wildflowers. The purple fringed orchid, blue-grey gnatcatcher and wood ducks are common sights in the sanctuary. The sanctuary includes a recently expanded trail system that leads to and along the Flint River.
