6 acres in Keweenaw County About four and half miles west of Copper Harbor on Dan's Point, Hylton is a long narrow strip, only 165 feet wide and almost half a mile long beside Lake Superior's shoreline. Purple fringed orchids, goldenrod, bearberry and cinquefoil are common along the shoreline. As you leave the shore and cross M-26, you pass through different habitats including many types of woods and swamps. The spring flower bloom this far north usually occurs around the 4th of July. |
